ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed proposals for the construction of Morningside to Woodhill Road
Waterline Improvements CDBG No. LR-CM-PF-22-009 will be received by The City of
Pell City, Alabama (Owner) in the Council Chambers at the City Hall in Pell City, Alabama
located at 1905 1st Avenue North, Pell City, Alabama 35125 until 10:00 a.m., the prevailing
time, on December 6, 2023, or by mailing to the City of Pell City, 1905 1st Avenue North,
Pell City, Alabama 35125 at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read. The
bid is comprised of the following principal items and approximate quantities:
Installation of 7000’ ± of 12” D.I. Water Main and Appurtenances
Plans and Specifications may be inspected at the City Hall of the City of Pell
City, Alabama and Municipal Consultants, Inc. in Birmingham, Alabama and they may be
obtained from the office of Municipal Consultants, Inc., 200 Century Park South, Suite 212,
Birmingham, Alabama 35226, upon payment of $75.00. Cost of plans and specifications are
non-refundable.
All Bidders must be responsible, meeting the criteria and requirements set forth
in the specification documents. Prequalification of Bidders is not required.
This project is considered a “Public Works” project and is governed by
competitive bid laws as contained in Title 39 of the Alabama Code. Bidders, subcontractors,
suppliers, and Bond Agents should be familiar with this code.
Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of
employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract, Section 3,
Segregated Facility, Section 109 and E.O. 11246.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive
technicalities. No Bidder may withdraw his bid within sixty days from the date set for
receiving of the same. A non-mandatory Pre-Bid Conference for prospective Bidders will be
held at The Dye Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant located at 1680 Golf Course Road, Pell
City, Alabama 35128 at 10:00 a.m. on November 28, 2023.
This project is governed by the applicable bid laws and practices of the State of
Alabama.
