ADVERTISMENT FOR BIDS
CITY OF HARTSELLE
MORGAN COUNTY, ALABAMA
Sealed bids will be received by the City of Hartselle at 611 Chestnut St. NW, Hartselle, Alabama, until 2:30 p.m. CST on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Hartselle Municipal Building and at that time will be publicly opened and read aloud. Sealed envelopes containing bids must be addressed as follows, and delivered to City of Hartselle, Attn: Rita S. Lee, City Clerk-Controller, 611 Chestnut St NW, Hartselle, Alabama 35640. All bids, including courier envelopes, both inside and outside, should be clearly marked as containing a “Sealed Bid for Hartselle Sports Lighting Equipment”
The project consists of providing all Sports Lighting Equipment, as specified or as an approved equal component, as listed in the Project Bid Documents.
Generally, but not necessarily all inclusive, the project consists of furnishing and delivering 10 ea. 80’ concrete poles, 8 each 46’ concrete poles, 45 each 20’ aluminum poles, 76 crossarms, 14 fixture arms along with brackets and lighting controls as indicated in the Project Bid Documents.
Attention is called to the critical timelines for this project. Owner anticipates providing Notice of Award no later than December 28, 2023, with delivery of the 80’ and 46’ poles with associated crossarms being no later than January 15, 2023.
To be eligible for consideration, bids must be submitted on complete original proposals made available by the Owner. Bid documents including material specifications and proposal forms are available at City of Hartselle, 611 Chestnut St. N.W., Hartselle, AL 35640. There is no charge for one (1) set of bid documents and no charge for bid documents to be emailed PDF format. Bid documents are on file and may be examined at the address listed above.
A cashier’s check drawn on an Alabama bank or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of bid or $10,000, whichever is less, made payable to the City of Hartselle must accompany each bid as evidence of good faith. The bidder’s proposal must be submitted on a complete original proposal form available as provided in the Project Bid Documents. No bidder may withdraw their bid within 30 days after the actual date of the opening thereof.
The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities, or to reject any or all bids, and to award the contract to the lowest and most responsible bidder.

Sealed bids will be received by the City of Hartselle at 611 Chestnut St. NW, Hartselle, Alabama, until 2:00 p.m. CST on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Hartselle Municipal Building and at that time will be publicly opened and read aloud. Sealed envelopes containing bids must be addressed as follows, and delivered to City of Hartselle, Attn: Rita S. Lee, City Clerk-Controller, 611 Chestnut St NW, Hartselle, Alabama 35640. The project consists of providing all labor, tools & equipment required to install various components of newly purchased, owner-furnished sports lighting equipment.
The overall project will include existing lighting demolition and installation of new lighting with controls at fourteen (14) individual sports fields. Generally, but not necessarily all inclusive, the project consists of removing lattice-type steel lighting towers at two baseball fields, installing 10 ea. 80’ concrete poles, 8 each 46’ concrete poles, 76 crossarms on new or existing poles, 461 LED fixtures to new crossarms including installation and connection of lighting controls as well as startup, aiming and final illumination measurements.
Attention is called to the critical timelines for this project. Owner anticipates providing Notice to Proceed no later than January 2nd, 2023, with four (4) of the first selected sports fields being completed and ready for use no later than February 5, 2023. The entire project shall be completed by April 30, 2023.

All Bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by the Owner. The Bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying the license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the bid is delivered. All bidders must be certified for the type of work for which the proposal is submitted. Before work commences, a City of Hartselle Business License will be required as well as Insurance Certificates showing coverages as outlined in the Bid Documents.
