PROJECT NAME: Shawmut Park Improvements Project

SCOPE OF WORK: ConstrucƟon of a playground at Shawmut Airport
DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
This work includes the furnishing of all labor, materials, and equipment to complete the following
principal items: ConstrucƟon of a Playground with ADA Accessible Components, including installaƟon of
equipment, safety ground cover, and border with some components wheelchair accessible. PreparaƟon
of the area will be completed by Valley Public Works, including leveling of the area and sidewalk
installaƟon.

CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS:
All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General
Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and
must show evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by the Engineer.
The bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying the license number on the outside of the
envelope in which the Proposal is delivered.
Contractor must have proof of acƟve SAM.gov and E‐Verify CerƟficaƟons.
It is the absolute responsibility of the bidders and the successful contractor to be knowledgeable of and
adhere to, the requirements of all Alabama laws related to or impacƟng the project, specifically including
the requirements of the Alabama Contract Laws.
No bidder may withdraw his bid within 90 days aŌer the opening thereof.
MANDATORY PRE‐BID CONFERENCE will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024, at 2:00 pm ET in the
conference room at the Valley City Hall, 20 Fob James Drive, Valley, AL 36854
BID Plans/Specs may be obtained, from Valley City Hall, 20 Fob James Drive, Valley, AL 36854, 334‐756‐
5223.
RECEIPT OF BIDS: All bids must be submiƩed in an envelope bearing on the outside the name of the
Bidder, the Bidder’s license number, address, and the name of the project. Envelopes containing bids
must be addressed and delivered to Kathy Snowden, City of Valley, 20 Fob James Drive, Valley, AL 36854.
Bids shall be received unƟl, 11:00 am ET on Thursday, September 5, 2024.
