Join us on January 30th for a full day of procurement / government contracting events! Learn how to do business with the State of Alabama and with GSA, how to attain and leverage SBA certifications and the DBE program, how to properly account for cost elements in a proposal, participate in disaster recovery, and learn about audits on defense contracts.

9:00 – 9:50 am Doing Business with the State of Alabama
In this session participants will gain a general understanding of rules and regulations of the State of Alabama’s Purchasing Division. Participants will also gain knowledge of how to take advantage of opportunities that are available through State Government.
9:00 – 9:50 am Intro to the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA)
Join us as we explore the roles and responsibilities of the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) and learn about the various types of audits performed throughout the acquisition lifecycle. Participants will also learn about available resources on DCAA’s website and how to navigate through these resources.
10:00 – 10:50 am Proposal Adequacy
The presentation will provide an overview of how proposal adequacy is determined through discussions on FAR Part 15, Table 15-2 and DFARs 252.215-7009. The presentation will discuss proposal adequacy requirements for cost elements such as Direct Labor, Material, Subcontracts, Other Direct Costs (ODCs), and Indirect Rates. Finally, participants will learn about historical data considerations, FAR Part 31 Unallowable Costs, common proposal deficiencies, and regulatory resources to assist with proposal development.

Learn about becoming a disaster response contractor at the local, state, or federal level.
11:00 – 11:50 am DBE Unified Certification Program
The intent of the DBE program is to maximize the opportunity of bona fide disadvantaged business firms. A disadvantaged business firm is a small business independently owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged persons.

Learn more about SBA certifications for business development and contracting. This workshop will cover the 8(a) Business Development Program and Small Disadvantaged Business certification and touch on Woman-Owned Small Business and Economically Disadvantaged Woman-Owned Small Business, HUBZone, Veteran-Owned Small Business and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business.
12:00 – 12:50 pm How to do Business with GSA This presentation gives an overall briefing of who GSA is and what the agency procures. It also briefly covers the GSA E-Tools. A webinar on GSA E-Tools is planned for Feb. 27.
