HABD is Alabama’s largest housing authority and the seventeenth largest in the nation, serving more than 22,000 Birmingham residents. HABD holds and plans to acquire and dispose of real estate primarily located within the City of Birmingham and Jefferson County, Alabama. We seek to conduct these transactions in support of our mission to provide affordable housing, which will involve the development and/or acquisition of land or existing structures for multi-family housing, commercial uses (such as office space), and mixed-use developments.
